This proposal embraces a direct encounter with density, and seeks to understand the methods by which this density can lead to positive affect. Currently, we cannot build without consuming resources in the manufacturing sector. However, recalling an industrial era familiar to Minnesota, we may be able to frame consumptions in such a way that it becomes natural and sympathetic. Through understanding the architect's role in a deepening energy crisis as being that of a mentor, there arises a possibility of enabling a working dialectic with the mechanisms that feed our demands.

Shifting to a more balanced approach to energy harvesting, this project becomes better fit for an expanding community with diverse needs. Embracing this local diversity faced with unprecedented global challenges, we will each need to keep on hand an evolving set of solutions, heavily influenced by choices. However, it is widely know that without a constant presence of option, choices quickly devolve into readily accessible habits. This project assumes a kit of parts from the green industry to be as common as walls and floors, such as: geothermal, rain water collection and reuse, solar energy and wind harvesting. As the Green trend slowly loses its novelty, sustainable and alternative methods become etched into the muscle memory of every designer and thinker. Soon, this approach will be as reflexive as breathing.
