During 2008 I participated in a competition to redesign the interior of the American Airlines Terminal at the Dallas/ Fortworth International Airport. My goal was to redesign the interior gate spaces to be more dynamic and above all more efficient and user friendly. Airports are places of waiting and people are already susceptible to the stresses of travel and airport security procedures, flying, and the spaces in which they wait can contribute to their overall well being. Creating such spaces with more amenities, more efficient circulation and clean air solutions can provide a calmer and more positive user experience. I created spaces that acted as modular prototypes which could potentially be repeated throughout the airside concourse in both international and domestic terminals.
