main strategy: Throughout my academic career, one of the skills I have developed most is the use of the laser cutter. The single most explored material was glass. I independently studied all of the ways to utilize the laser cutter in ways that advanced beyond the context of architecture courses or academics, and pushed its capabilities. something I put effort into cultivating was rasterizing and laser-etching images into glass. The NEGATIVE is imprinted on the glass, so that the actual portrait is the SHADOW created by the light passing through the gaps in the image. When light is shined DIRECTLY on the glass, the negative image reverses, becoming the positive visible in the glass itself (seen on the next page).
