Built as satellite town to nuclear power plant Visaginas is the youngest Lithuanian town with its very specific urban conditions. Strictly functional, almost purest icon of ideal socialistic settlement it was never meant to house any anarchistic manifestations of urban miscellany. Paradoxically, uniform residential blocks with their nesting-box-like flats today is home for the most intelligent and heterogeneous community in the whole country.
In this project my purpose was to introduce the new pattern of reflecting inhabitants’ identities in built form. I designed residential house which consists of individual units with their unique spatial solutions and distinct aesthetical representations.
