BundleLumber is an iconic cycling and pedestrian bridge located on the Amstel River south of the city center, near the Netherlands Opera House and on axis with the Hermitage Amsterdam Museum. Taking advantage of CNC-aided technology for bending and laminating lumber, two structural beams are formed by bundling irregular strands of glue-laminated timber that gather and release in response to zones of tension and compression. A cafe and bike repair shop are tucked underneath the east end of the bridge and accessed by additional brick surface that contributes a more generous public space around the museum's entrance.
