In this studio, housing modules that would be deployed upon the site were developed before the initial site visits. The housing modules that were developed focused on how wrapping bands could serve the buildings use as well as the specific occupants use. The bands are wrapped and manipulated to form furnishings as well as spaces. Then from the analysis of the site, on the edge of Nob Hill and Chinatown, it is revealed that there are undefined boundaries where each district’s identifiying factors pixilates upon the other’s territory. From that revelation, a housing project was developed to incorporate a Chinese herbal medicine school that blurs the boundaries by creating a dependent partnership environment between users.
