The May Co. Building is located in Downtown Los Angeles.  The design proposal for the historically significant May Co. Building was to adaptively reutilize the building as a Visual Arts School much like the Colburn School, UCLA's Theater and Film School, and USC's School of Theater.  The other percentage of the building would be reutilized as housing; similarly to other adaptive reuse projects in the Historic Downtown Area.  The main character defining features of the May Co. that made it historically significant was the ground floor retail area and its facade.
