Ferry Street, the Ironbound’s Main Street, is one of the most culturally unique areas in downtown Newark.  The goal of the project was to enhance the Ironbound’s image while creating a new pedestrian experience through the use of special pavements, furnishings, street lighting and shade trees.  Peter Francisco Park, located at the terminus of Ferry Street right outside Penn Station, will undergo a transformation of its own including amphitheater steps and an interactive fountain at a later phase in the project.  I was closely involved in all aspects of this project from construction documentation to cost analysis to construction management.
