This 25,000 square foot linear office building was designed as an annex to an
existing administrative building on an adjacent site. The tall bar houses offices and
research facilities. The facade is composed of overlapping planes of glass and
perforated metal mesh to create sun shading for the offices beyond. The research
facilities are behind the opaque portion of the facade to allow for a controlled
environment. Public functions, circulation and lounge areas, are represented by the
areas of clear glass to provide a brightly lit and spacious environment for the
building’s inhabitants to congregate and exchange ideas. A shipping and receiving
area is located at the back of the building on the ground floor.
