This is a City of Portland pilot project. The City asked students at the University of Oregon to begin exploring the social, environmental, and economical possibilities of an eco-district.
Through the systematic layering & inking of key processes the Lents neighborhood of Portland, OR is transformed into a dynamic, functional home for both wildlife and humans: an Eco-District. The cyclic natures of energy production, urban agriculture, consumer waste, building material generation, hydrologic function, and habitat viability, are strategically overlapped and synthesized to create a productive and increasingly sustainable urban experience.
