New National Library of the Czech Republic

The international design competition for The New National Library of the Czech Republic received over 400 anonymous entries for the first round of design submissions. This sculptural design, reaching the final competition phase, offers an elegant and evocotive counterpart to the rich architectural history that already exists in Prague. With three masses corresponding to primary view trajectories across the city and three primary program groups, woven together by an evocotive skin-shading system - this project offers a compelling vision for the new national library.
During the final phase of the design competition, I worked under direct supervision of the Principal Architect and along side a small team of designers and engineers. I was responsible for circulation and mechanical system design and assisting completion of final drawings and project submission.
