My first summer of Graduate School I took advantage of a study abroad program and landed on the island of Agena, Greece. Our studio projects were due every Friday so we were free to travel the islands during the weekends. We weren't entirely free, we had to capture our travels in a sketch book which forced me to slow down and really study a place and a moment in time....and  I don't have to rely on my memory entirely and can revisit that happy time through the book I compiled.
