Capital One Conference Center & Atrium

Robert Siegel Architects was selected to provide building and theater design by Capital One’s interior design architect, Macini Duffy Architects.  The project included the addition of 27,000 square feet to Capital One’s corporate headquarters as well as renovations to adjacent existing office buildings.  New facilities include a 400 seat auditorium,  conference rooms, a winter garden, cafe, and support spaces.

The curvilinear form of the addition, on a narrow site, plays against the existing bow-shaped office tower and formal, circular vehicular forecourt.  We developed the design to create a flexible lecture hall capable of handling audiences between 50 and 400 people.  The winter garden provides required pre-theater staging area and has subsequently become the social heart of the building.  Its lush greenery, running water, and intimate lighting levels provides a quiet respite from the office tower and road noise of the adjacent beltway.
