A cafeteria in the university campus, located near the auditorium, cultural center and Institute of Mass Communication, was expected to become a hub of all social activities of the Campus.
This canteen was proposed as a ‘semi-open air café’. This allowed to have an ambient temperature for most of the year along with good ventilation, and a variety of degrees of shade from the climate.
I was involved in the conceptual design stage for this project, and developed plans, elevations and sections that would guide the team through the working drawing stages. I was also responsible for the client presentations, producing conceptual imagery, perpectives and renderings to convey the concept.
The project went on to get critical acclaim. Most notably - ‘The Phaidon Atlas for 21st Century World Architecture’. The project photographs are credited to Saurabh Pandey.
