PanAmerican Games Awards Pavilion

The project was to design the Pan American Games Awards Pavilion in Toronto for 2015. My structure was a tensile one. Long steel cables laced with fiber optic lights spanned massive distances over two large trusses that helped to shape the enclosure created. The cables supported translucent vinyl panels meant to partially enclose the space while allowing great amounts of diffuse light to penetrate to the stage and seating while not preventing the flow of air through the space. At night the fiber optics would make the structure on Toronto's waterfront an icon of multi-colored lights to behold.
