As a challenge to the high-rise typology, the project combines broadcasting facilities for both NPR and FOXnews with a collection of public libraries and research groups to create a highly public, vertically integrated skyscraper.
Issues of public space and information access in current technologically-driven society are addressed through an extreme tension between the set of hyper-programmed commercial spaces of mangled secrets and lies and the hyper-public in-between spaces as the terrain of truth-and-justice seeking citizens.
This public-domain interface with conflicting corporate programs such as NPR and FOX, creates a stage set for the exposure of the schizophrenic nature of “fact” and the multiple personalities of information sources that contribute to public knowledge and the corporate media sphere.
