Fernald Preserve Visitors Center & Museum

[2008]

The Fernald Preserve Visitors Center is a 10,000 sf adaptive use of a warehouse on the former U.S. Department of Energy uranium processing facility. Completed in 2009, the project is certified LEED Platinum and “celebrates the rich and varied history of the Fernald site. Information on the site’s natural, Native American, settlement and farming, uranium production, and environmental cleanup eras, as well as the recent ecological restoration and legacy management mission, is presented through a series of exhibits.”  I helped edit the video and audio clips for use in the exhibits. Then I was part of a small team who installed all components of the museum - walls, video screens, audio equipment, artifacts, interactive exhibits, etc.
