Courtyard House

The Courtyard House project was designed for a corner lot on a hypothetical site in the Southwest. There were site conditions given to us - such as a prevailing wind from the North as well as indicating the main road and the side street. My proposed design solution was to layer service spaces around the main living spaces, located furthest from the street. At the same time, I wanted to allow limited views into the house put still provide proper lighting and a dynamic interior. I proposed 2 stucco walls - yellow and orange - to have punched out windows to allow glimpses into the home as well as define the layering of the house in a formal sense. This project was developed almost entirely through physical models.
