Formerly designed to be a 30,000sqm medical centre, this project has transformed a redundant and unuseable building, unoccupied for 10 years, into a visionary office environment with combined research facility. Reusing the existing building and resisting the temptation to demolish it, the previously ineffective deep plan layout has been turned into an efficient flexible space. The new plan sub-divides the floor plate by introducing two atriums, providing a sequence of spaces all accessible from the newly created entrance. The design maximises daylight and provides interactive opportunities for occupants. The building was immediately leased on completion by The Adidas Group.
