University building. Concept design competition

The project of renovation of the historical building was organized as an international competition. The analysis of the valuable from historical and aesthetical point of view spaces was provided. The project was developed in the strict city government condition considering not changeable height of the main façade line. According to the design-concept some previously university open courtyards were redeveloped and covered by the new system of light-weight glass domes. All technical solutions were provided with the help of “Schlaich Bergermann und partner” engineering company. The new system of air recuperation was offered as a protection against courtyards overheating possibility.
