ADA-Compliant Ramp Installation

504-510 West 110th Street is a twelve (12) story plus cellar residential condominium located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue.  The building was constructed circa 1911.

The general scope of this project entails installation of ADA-compliant ramps between the main and elevator lobbies, and a wheelchair lift between the lower and upper vestibules. The purpose is to provide an accessible route from the West 110th Street sidewalk to the building elevators, conforming to applicable Federal, New York State, and New York City barrier-free codes. Throughout this bid package, the term “ADA”, which stands for “The Americans with Disabilities Act”, is used as a generic reference for all applicable barrier-free codes, laws and guidelines that pertain to universal accessibility; specifically The Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), The New York State Executive Law: Article 15: the Human Rights Law, and NYC City Local Law 58 of 1987 (LL58/87) (amendment to the New York City Building Code).
