The concept for the Boutique Hotel came from the site of the structure. The site had a small semi-underground stream that ran almost diagonally through and that is where the angle of the walls comes from. The central area is constructed as a large con- crete box that follows the direction of the stream underneath and also including the major mechanical features of the hotel. There is only one narrow window running the entire height of the concrete increasing the idea of its solidity. The rest of the hotel contains the suites and amenities and is made of glass and steel to counterbalance the heaviness of the concrete center with the lightness of the hotel suites.
