Wellness Center at Cranbrook Academy

Rooted in the notion of ionic exchange, this scheme for a pool house and guest houses tectonically demonstrates the influences of each building type on the other.  Vestiges and influences of their relationship can be read inside and out of each resulting form.  The void between them becomes and
exterior pool.  

Siting encourages passive ventilation and heating.   Exterior walls act as scrim and and seem to hang on tilt-up concrete slab construction.  This wall system and radiant heating, gently condition the interior spaces to give the user a more authentic experience of the environment.
