This project was completed as a part of a computational design seminar with students of the Politecnico di Torino, while abroad in Italy. The seminar was three weeks long and investigated Bentley Generative Components. The Bridge Station Lingotto is located in an outlying area of Torino, and connects two disparate sides of the tracks, one being an industrial zone under mixed-use redevelopment, and a quiet residential zone. The current station offers no inviting or engaging means of crossing the tracks. The train station operates like a blender, and includes shopping and nightlife facilities in addition to transportation infrastructure. The station seeks to bring people of various backgrounds together, and connect them to the larger city of Torino, and in doing so reconcile the two sides of the tracks.
