About

My name is Andrew Hutarso. I am a fourth-year  architecture student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institutein Troy, New York  and I am currently looking for a summer internship program in 2014.

I have been greatly involved  in  design activities,  especially architecture, for four years. The education  I have received from RPI School of Architecture has had a tremendous impact on  my vision and has shaped my creativity to the highest level quality of design. I say this not because I am overconfident,  but  because I always want to produce the best and most unique output all the time. Of course I made mistakes and  I failed  many times, but rather than crying for my failure, I  took a  positive view and used the failure as a lesson to learn so I can fully understand the problem. I picture the failure in a bigger scale so I can anticipate similar problems in the future that will have much bigger impact. I also like to be different than everybody else. In the studio, I always tried to do something different from my colleagues. Of course, there were sometimes consequences. Sometimes I would get criticized and many  people would ask “why” I did things differently. Occasionally, my idea contradicted the professor’s perspective, and I have been given a bad score when they felt I was wrong. However, I do not feel bad if I got a bad grade for something that I believe  is right. It is not because I do not care about my GPA, but I appreciate failures and learning for what they teach me. Many of my professors have actually been impressed and interested in my unique ideas.

I am confident my creativity is above average. The first reason is  because I always see every problem positively. I believe that every problem has to have a solution even when many people say it is impossible. I believe the key is focus. Second, the way I solve something is by providing as many possible solutions as I can, then selecting the best one. I understand my weakness and I always tryevaluate myself. I know Isometimes become too concerned  with one aspect of a problem and it can take me longer  to solve. However, I make sure every product that I produce is high quality .

My other principle is “I believe in myself.” I believe I am smart. I believe I can solve any problem. I also believe humans are capable of doing something better even when they think they have done their best. My favorite quote, “raise your hand and reach the highest point. Now rise a little bit higher. Wait, didn’t I just say rise to the highest point? But why  can you still reach a little bit higher?” What limits people is time. Therefore, when I have been given any tasks, I always give them priority .  I  organize my tasks well,  create my priority list, and follow through to completion.

I also have great passion for learning and I believe teamwork is a key of success. Therefore, I respect other people’s opinions and always triy to foster a creative environment by contributing  ideas and analysis. I respect and honor elder people and those with more experience than I. I believe  the essence of solidarityis within colleagues. People have to be trustworthy and responsible with their tasks. Lastly, I believe good systems are one of the crucial keys to success.

My mission in this summer internship  is not solely learning in the company.  I face this as a challenge as well as a measurement of my capability before facing the real world after I graduate. Thus, I am hoping to find the place where later in the future I can fully dedicate myself working as a prospective employee. Therefore, if I get accepted, I will show my top performance and consistently produce the best work. Last year during my summe internship  at (I would probably spell this organization out the first time I used it,. Most firms may recognize it, but I as a layman don’t)ILATAAJ, I dedicated myself one hundred percent to the company. As the result, after my first month, the principal trusted me with a great responsibility and assigned me to collaborate with one of his vital teams as second project designer on his main project.

By providing my perspective, thought, vision and mission, I hope to find the company that matches  my style. I want to find a company with an honorable mission that rewards creativity and promotes employee solidarity.I hope that my presence will only  strengthen those values.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for anyiInternship opportunities this summer.. Thank you.
