About

Martin.  23 years, a Canadian citizen who lived my childhood in Vancouver, British Columbia, and most of my adult life in Los Angeles, California.

MBTI Personality profile: INTP

As a recent graduate Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona, I am attempting to take my first enthusiastic  steps into the vast world of Design as a young professional.  Though I studied Architecture and Buildings, my interest in Design has expanded significantly to incorporate Engineering, Product Design, Transportation design, Game Design, and many types of Architecture (Large and small).  I am looking to gain valuable work experience, to build my skills as a young designer and advocate of technology and aesthetics in my work.  I have worked as an Intern in a corporate architectural firm and am currently fostering my interest in Space Design working with NASA at JPL designing Space Craft Interior concepts.

I am fascinated with the speed, creativity and language  that Industrial and Transportation Designers show, and plan on perusing a Masters in Transportation Design eventually - and possibly Engineering someday.

Strong Interests:

the Edge of human habitability

Space Architecture

Extreme Environment Architecture - Arctic

Sustainability - Systems Aesthetic Integration

Modular Systems

Pre-Fabrication

Deploy-able Architecture / Robotic Assembly

Compact / Mobile Architecture

Inspirations:  I often find a lot of my inspiration in terms of Language, Aesthetics, Form, Systems and Concepts from fictional universes in:

Sci-Fi (Starships, Buildings, Vehicles, Technology, Clothing)

Video Game Design (concept art and 3d model designs)

Transportation design (Cars, Yachts, Ships, Aircraft, Motorcycles, Conceptual Vehichles, Interiors, etc.)

Employment

NASA Jet Propulsion Laborator (JPL), Pasadena, CA, US, Intern
