Harley grew up in Georgia. During his youth, he experienced communion with nature secluded in the wild. As an adult, a life spent as a hispanophile led him to travel to Spain. For the first time, he discovered the same shelter of the woods in that of the city. His moments of discovery felt natural; they felt like rediscoveries. He considers himself to be a man of letters fascinated by the city. His primary interest lies in the relationship between the evolution of language and the evolution of art and architecture.
