About

I recently graduated with a BA Hons in Interior Design at Dublin Institute of Technology. I am regarded by others as being highly adaptable, with problem solving abilities, good communication and creativity in both a professional and social environment. I possess a strong willingness to learn. These are qualities that I am endowed with in abundance.

The course covered many topics, and I was particularly drawn to design communications such as design fabrication, CAD, 3D models in Sketchup and rendering. I am looking to develop specialist skills in this area and build a successful career.

I have put my course theory into practice in a variety of ways, most effectively as an Interior Architect at NODA, (Nikki O’ Donnell Architects) where I worked on 3D renders for the Morrison Hotel, Dublin, and the Radisson Hotel, Haitii. I also gained work experience in Henry J Lyons Architects where I implemented my skills in areas such as Recreation, Hospitality, Retail, Health, Leisure.

I am ideally suited for a career in this industry, as I can combine my naturally creative insight and abilities with business acumen beyond my age. I portray strong peer and self-evaluation skills, which are very useful in critical, conceptual, productive and professional capacities. I am a confident, positive communicator - both socially and professionally – and am comfortable sharing my thoughts and creative ideas with colleagues, clients or friends. Although my professional experience is still somewhat limited, I have already shown my ability to interpret and articulate ideas and express myself clearly, creatively and positively through drawings and specifications. I possess a natural talent for design - including color, and good 3D awareness, and am confident in the use of color, light, texture, and space with sensitivity.

Sourced furniture and decor on a restricted budget. Liaised closely with clients throughout the design process.

Dublin Institute of Technology, Dublin, IE, BArch, Interior Design

In college, I particularly excelled during art classes - as they not only improved my drawing ability, but also helped to develop my confidence in expressing myself creatively. I was constantly challenged to assert my creativity in different artistic forms, and it was this that really sparked my interest in interior design. I gained an in-depth insight into the intellectual exploration of people's use and experience of interiors in the contexts of society as a whole. The experience has also taught me how to participate in both group and independent study.
