About

I graduated from Columbia University GSAPP in 2015 earning a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design. Highlights included working for a semester in the New Museum creative incubator, “NewInc”, and visiting several sites in Brazil during the William Kinne traveling studio. Additionally, all three of my studio projects were selected for publication in the GSAPP annual review titled “Abstract”.

I previously graduated cum laude from the University of Arkansas, Fay Jones School of Architecture, in 2010 with a Bachelors of Architecture. I served as a mentor for first year students, was the  secretary of the Tau Sigma Delta honor society, and successfully defended an honors thesis. I gained international experience in Spain and Italy, winning the Honor’s College Traveling Fellowship and the Wischmeyer Rome Travel Scholarship. While in Spain, I worked part-time at Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos’ Madrid office. I later interned with Marlon Blackwell Architect for a year after my undergraduate degree, helping on projects such as the Crystal Bridges Museum Store and the Steven L. Anderson Design Center. I then worked for Gensler LA helping grow the Retail Centers' practice area within the Retail/Mixed Use studio.

My personal work shows a leaning towards site based design with muti-layered concepts, and performance based optimization. Public spaces are developed in under utilized areas, attempting to enliven, and enlarge the public realm. Local qualities of heritage and craft are studied and pushed forward testing the limits of what can be achieved. I believe that simple can be elegant, and that the marvelous can be found in the mundane. Trends running through the work include: open systems with formal tendencies, rough materials alongside emerging technologies and contextual fantasy in everyday settings.
