About

I am a science literate designer with aspirations of colonizing Earth in an egalitarian and sustainable fashion. We are currently living through the sixth mass extinction event on the planet; I am interested in fostering biodiversity in the built environment as a way of reconnecting our ways of living to the natural cycles of energy use that have evolved over billions of years.

Employment

AES Consultants Ltd., Batavia, Jr Architect/Draftsman

4 person firm specializing in Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Land Surveying. I was working directly under a Licensed Architect and Civil Engineer on all areas of the office's production.

Drafted over 200 land surveying documents,
8 complete document sets for new residential homes,
12 document sets for architectural renovations/additions,
20 Site and Detailed Grading Plans as consultants for other firms.

Assisted a Professional land surveyor with performing field work conforming to professional standards for surveys in the state of Illinois.

Personally upgraded the entire office's computer system for the first time in a decade using custom built machines without experiencing any downtime in the office's production schedule. Was able to migrate the firm's digital archive from AutoCAD R14 to AutoCAD 2014 while maintaining all plot styles.

Wilmotte & Associés SA, Paris, FR, Intern

I worked directly with the schematic design team's lead architect on the interior redevelopment of projects started by other firms in construction. I was told to be as wildly imaginative as possible and bring an outsider's perspective to the schematic design team's various projects:

The redevelopment of a fitness center in Qatar into a museum exhibition space with fiber optic daylight solutions.

Developed the interior design concepts for an archaeological museum competition located in Mariana, Corsica.

Translated construction documents from French to English for projects under construction in Qatar.

Redesigned a proposal for a new residential home in Marseilles, to comply with code requirements for impervious areas and environmental impact, within the existing aesthetics of the original proposal.

Redeveloped the interiors of the Foundation Vuitton, a new art museum in Paris originally designed by Frank Gehry. (Featured on the October 2014 cover of Architectural Record)
