Hallie called Cleveland, OH home throughout her childhood and through much of her twenties. Her undergraduate studies in Architecture and Sociology at Kent State University led to a Masters of Architecture from the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative. Hallie soon left the Midwest to launch her design career in Washington DC as Creative Director for the bold art/furniture store-gallery Skynear Designs (formerly Skynear and Company). Her smart graphic sense delivered the owners' 2011 vision for Skynear's fresh feel-good branding. Throughout her education, Hallie interned with AIA Ohio Gold firm Bialosky + Partners Architects, and now, years later has re-united with this dynamic office in Cleveland.

Over 80 registrants participated in the 2013 COLDSCAPES Competition, with submissions received from 15 U.S. cities and 13 countries spanning a wide range of cold (and warm) weather climates.
The three winning entries and ten honorable mentions were selected by a jury comprised of leaders in a range of design fields, including architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning and public art. The projects selected for recognition reflect the diversity of the jurors’ backgrounds and the spectrum of potential insertion points for design to enhance the lives of winter city visitors and residents.
Our submission, GLOW, is featured as an Honorable Mention, and will be published in Urban Infill, Vol. 6, available from Amazon.com November 15, 2013.
The official call for entries asked for teams of up to six individuals to create couture fashions from 80% of their team’s designated material provided by their team’s manufacture rep.
Our team, consisting of Hallie DelVillan (Bialosky + Partners), Mandisa Gosa (Bialosky + Partners), Sandy Weigel (Bialosky + Partners), Raina Hooper (Ohio Desk), and model Hannelore Berken (Independent Artist & Published Poet) competed against 16 rival teams at Product Runway held at the State Theater on May 3rd 2013. Our Final Design, was inspired by both the historic 1920s atmosphere of the State Theater fused with Alice in Wonderland. We selected an array of textiles in blues, blacks, and grays from our sponsor, Steelcase.
