My career focus for the past year has been assisting property owners (single family home and apartment owners) legalize unpermitted conversions and additions. This has proven to be a very challenging focus as it involves investigative and sometimes demo/forensic research to establish the permitted original building vs. unpermitted change, as-built measurement and drafting, negotiation and presentation with code enforcement officials who want to say "no" most of the time, and then regular tasks an architect would encounter with any project including construction documents, clearances, and obtaining the building permit.

George H. Mayer Foundation - USC Architectural Guild Travelling Fellowship, Other
The George H. Mayer Foundation -USC Architectural Guild Travelling Fellowship awarded for:
A study of Frank Lloyd Wright in Japan & America
With the Fellowship I traveled throughout Japan for 3 weeks along a predetermined path to locations Frank Lloyd Wright once visited, as well as his architectural designs still existing in Japan today. Following studies in Japan I traveled from the East coast of the United States back to West Coast visiting as many of Frank Lloyd Wright designed structures as possible.
I completed this fellowship with a couple presentations building a possible relationship between Wright's love of the Japanese wood block print and composition, and traditional Japanese architecture and concept to his own work in the US and abroad.
