My name is Stoyan Kaludov and I am a recent graduate from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Architecture. I was born and raised in Bulgaria but have been residing in the United States for more than eleven years. I am searching for entry level designer / intern opportunities with a creative firm in the Houston area.
I am a dynamic and ambitious individual and have worked hard on numerous designs throughout my education. Some of the hypothetical projects I have spent time on include residential and mixed use housing and development, urban planning, heritage, rehabilitation and re-use, educational places and libraries, galleries, garden/landscape design and even classical design among others. However, I have researched and studied many different kinds of places and have interest in designing and working on any project. I have always kept an open mind towards architecture and design! I will gladly accept any position where I can be a part of the solution to the problems presented by any program, regardless of type.
I possess a proficient set of hand drawing and computer skills. My advanced knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe suite, Microsoft Office, sketching and drawing provide me with easy tools to present projects clearly and in an efficient manner. I can also utilize AutoCAD and have an understanding of how Revit works as I have experimented with the program. I am proficient in analyzing sites and preparing base plans with AutoCAD and Sketch Up. I have a basic understanding of Construction Documents for standard construction.
My best assets are my problem solving skills and attention to detail and culture. I was educated to design really well by respected architects and scholars. I can provide you with their reference on request. I strive to design with passion and purpose. I hope for my designs to appear with character rather than style. To do that, I carefully study the program, site conditions and the culture of the place. Understanding the need of the people and what the site and place can present will hint at conscious and innovative solutions to complex problems. I have a passion for history, construction and human need that I pour into my work. Guided by nature and technology, I hope that my designs do not just appear as an object (or building) but as a poetic expression.
