About

I am a recent Politics graduate from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.   My prior work experience includes two internships.  The first, on Capitol Hill, involved assisting the staff by answering phone calls, responding to mail and e-mail, attending Senate Committee Hearings and drafting memos, as well as any other day-to-day tasks for which assistance was needed.

The second internship was at a fundraising office in Washington.  I began as a summer intern working with their donor software, imputing information and creating call sheets with Excel, as well as making phone calls to potential donors and attending fundraising events.  I was hired the following fall as an office assistant, mainly in charge of the office bookkeeping using Quickbooks.  I continued to assist the firm by updating their donor software, answering the phone, creating spreadsheets, and helping to plan the fundraising events.

While a student, I was elected Communications Director for my school’s College Democrats organization.  In that role, I was responsible for handling all event advertising including creation of promotional material such as flyers, posters and banners as well as maintaining the group’s website.  The website consisted of blog posts, pictures and a calendar of events.  My role in managing the website was to market the group to the student body.

I am currently working in both Harrisburg, PA, as an office bookkeeper, and in Lancaster, PA as an office assistant for an event planning venue.  At the event planning venue, I am in charge of taking pictures of the events and updating the venue's blog on a daily basis.  I also answer phones, respond to e-mails, and assist with the events.  On a regular basis I am using Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, Quickbooks and PowerPoint.  I am a beginner with Adobe Creative Suite and actively expanding on my software literacy.

Throughout my work experience I have performed my duties with minimal supervision.  I enjoy a challenge and embrace variety in my work.  I am able to connect well with people I have just met and am very much at ease in social situations.  My strongest qualities are my organizational skills and my ability to focus on details while being creative in both my thinking and my approach to a task.
