About

Hello. My name is Shaun Hyla. I enjoy creative problem solving.
My passion for art and design is fueled by an overwhelming curiosity to understand my surroundings.

Currently, I am earning my Masters of Architecture from the University of Buffalo. My background is in graphic design and sculpture. Following my studies I believe I'll be able to build anything I want, at any scale.

Education

University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, US, MArch, Architecture

Currently, I am studying architecture.

My program seems to combine the expressionistic freedom of art, with the analytical scrutiny of design.

I'm not a 100% certain which realm of architecture I would like to eventually be associated with. My instincts tell me that smaller, more intimate residential work may be more to my liking, but I enjoy diversity and new challenges. Right now, I am looking for any and all experience I can get my hands on. I'd like to get a real world taste of both large scale and small scale projects.

Aug 2010 - current

State University of New York at Fredonia, Fredonia, NY, US, Sculpture/Graphic Design

I began Fredonia as a Graphic Design major, taking sculpture courses as a core requirement.

I finished with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture, taking Graphic Design courses for fun.

My passion for art and design led me to continue my education by earning my Master's in Architecture.
