About

I am a digital-born, web-2.0 savvy humanitarian who is excited about sustaining ancient urges to share through emerging digital mechanisms.  I received my Masters of Library and Information Science degree from FSU with a reference specialization this spring and have a BA in English from Elon University.  From 2009-2010 I served as the Poetry Editor for Colonnades, Elon's Literary and Art magazine, when it was a winner of the National Pacemaker Award presented by the Associate Collegiate Press.  I am detail-oriented and take pride in crafting a polished product.

I am first and foremost a writer who believes in the power of words and the framework of storytelling as tools to validate what people already understand and then extend their understanding through argument, facts, and relationships between concepts.  I enjoy strategic planning, marketing, researching, and advocating for issues that I feel passionately about, including the environment, censorship, literacy, and lifelong learning.  I enjoy learning new things, am flexible, independent, and have a sense of humor.  I paint pet portraits by commission.
