About

                                         CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT WORK SUMMARY

I have 30 years experience in civil engineering and construction management, 19 of which were at Richter & Ratner Contracting Corp., one of the premier national store builders at the time. As a senior project executive, I managed the construction of many high end retail establishments including Tyffany & Co., Ferragamo, Burberry, Escada,  Coach, Armani, Joan and David .... and more.

I was also PM on numerous middle sector retail stores (Levis, Swatch, Oilily, Tourneau......) hair salons (Louis Licari), food venues (McDonald's, Sbarro, Mrs, Field's Cookies, Chick-fil-a) as well as some corporate offices (Escada, Coach, Jaeger).

My projects were located across the US and I was responsible for all aspects from estimating, scheduling and purchasing to day to day coordination with the field superintendents. Visiting the job sites to do field checks and meet with clients, sub-contractors and vendors was also under my charge. I am very well traveled..

For many of my high end retail clients, I assisted the design teams in the early stages to define a project's more challenging issues; establish control budgets and schedules; review leases. I have a reputation for working well with architects and designers. Because I am very articulate (have written professionally for 10 years as a hobby) I am proficient at translating designs from concept to reality in the field.

Finally, I am dedicated to my work. When I take on a project I stay with it at all times and inspire those who work alongside me to do likewise.

                                                       MARKETING MANAGER WORK SUMMARY

In 2002, I was offered a unique opportunity to work outside my chosen field to manage marketing for Ridge Abstract Corp. Title Insurance. It was during the great mortgage boon and salaries in this field were very high. Having children that were college bound I decided to take this position and remained there until our recession caused Ridge to downsize. Last March I was offered a generous package and left. While there, my responsibilities included:

   ●  Set up the company’s first website with IT vendors in 2004.
   ●  Wrote advertising copy and managed graphic designers for corporate literature and web marketing.
   ●  Hosted social events for existing and potential clients.
   ●  Developed positive relationships with clients and taught others how to do so.
   ●  Tracked and expedited property title searches. Oversaw the submission of all legal instruments            (Deeds, Mortgages, Judgments, etc.) for official recording in Counties in New York and New Jersey.
   ●   Managed office staff and served as Human Resource Manager for all labor issues.
   ●   Developed business model for company’s last major expansion in 2004.

Today I am seeking significant employment with an established retail organization or a construction management firm that specializes in the kind of retail development for which I excel.

Education

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Newark, NJ, US, Bachelors, Engineering Technology

My core curriculum was Construction Management, a new field of study at the time which has now become quite popular for engineers who wish to pursue construction rather than design engineering as their chosen field.

My classes ranged from architectural and structural design to estimating and scheduling.

I was trained in both design and building so I was well rounded early in my career.

Sep 1978 - Jun 1982

Brooklyn Technical High School, Brooklyn,, New York, High School, Structurl Design

Brooklyn Tech was and still is one of the finest and demanding engineering high schools in the US.
At a very early age I was trained in the broad field of engineering and practical shopwork applications.

It was a demanding school and prepared me for my career even before I entered college.
