Ever since I was a young boy, I have always been interested in art and music; however, I never thought it would be architecture that would spark my passion and guide my life. Before architecture I did a lot of drawing; mostly with pencils, inspired by sci-fi films. It was only after watching two of my favorite films; Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis” (1927) and Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner” (1982), that I realized there was something much deeper taunting me; it was the artistic re-presentation of the city of the future and the striking images of modernity that really caught my eye. Living in Los Angeles most of my life and seeing the informed vision of a future Los Angeles, its future architecture and urbanism in “Blade Runner”, gave me an overwhelming need to pursue architecture as my career.
