Accessible Stations Development Program (ASDP), nation-wide / Client: Amtrak/Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) – Project Engineer responsible for managing third-party architects and engineers for development of design packages to modify Amtrak owned station components for ADA compliance. This program is funded through the FRA and consists of performing ADA assessments of approximately 481+ stations throughout Amtrak’s nationwide rail network, and determination of proposed station improvements to bring these stations into compliance with the 2006 DOTAS standards. The ASDP program succeeds the ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) program which also utilized federal funds for station improvements and Amtrak’s “Mobility First” station ADA compliance improvement program. Projected costs of the ASDP program are anticipated to exceed $1 billion over a five-year period.

Restoration work for a 1912 landmark Italian Renaissance building in the Bronx which is now the entrance to the 180th street station on the “Green line”. Included overall repairs to station infrastructure, redeveloping the circulation, providing ADA access and achieving code compliance.

Manage construction administration, review shop drawings, attend meetings and field visits, produce sketches and details to resolve construction issues and respond to RFI’s.

Generate “scope of work” after analyzing each school. Extensive site surveys. Address serious wear and tear and waterproofing issues. Produce custom details for brick, stone and terra-cotta work. Prepare construction documents. Visit site and prepare progress reports, review shop drawings and day-to-day construction administration in the office.
