About

RtecH|VE | INNOVATIVE + SUSTAINABLE + COMMUNITY-FOCUSED LIVE-WORK-PLAY

RtecH|VE is an innovative and forward-thinking initiative situated on the picturesque outskirts of Austin. This project represents a groundbreaking venture in community development, focusing on the fusion of art, technology, and sustainable living. Spread over 1.5 acres of scenic land in the Oakcrest Ranchettes subdivision, close to Wolf Ranch and Downtown Georgetown, the project boasts not just an ideal location but also a vision for a better future. At the core of RtecH|VE is using 3D printing technology, which symbolizes the project’s commitment to affordability and ecological responsibility. This technology is not just a construction method; it’s a statement of intent, signifying a break from traditional building practices and a step towards a more sustainable future. The neighborhood designed under this project is not just a collection of buildings; it’s a vibrant, diverse community where people from various backgrounds come together. It’s a hub for artists and tech start-ups, a place where creative minds meet and collaborate.
The development is meticulously planned to include a range of amenities that cater to both personal and professional needs. Among these are coworking spaces designed to ignite collaborative creativity, community gardens promoting a connection with nature, and various living units catering to different preferences and needs. Sustainability is a key pillar of the RtecH|VE project. The neighborhood is built with decentralized clusters that use off-grid microgrids powered by renewable energy sources. This reduces the carbon footprint and fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility among the residents. The architecture is dynamic and evolving, with flexible 3D-printed dwellings that can adapt to the community's changing needs. The self-sustaining structure of the project is a testament to its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and strengthening social connections. The project isn’t just about providing a place to live and work; it’s about creating an environment that nurtures growth, innovation, and a sense of belonging.
Moreover, the site itself adds to the allure of the project. With bluff river access and stunning views, the location is perfect for those who appreciate nature’s beauty.
In conclusion, Project RtecH|VE is more than just a housing development; it’s a vision for a new way of living. It represents a harmonious blend of technology, artistry, and entrepreneurship, all while remaining deeply rooted in the principles of sustainability and community. This project isn’t just building homes; it’s building a future.

Description
WorkOut is a global outdoor workspace network designed for remote workers and students. It combats isolation by encouraging social interaction and global networking. Facilitating work and leisure, its biophilic design promotes mental wellness. Set in locations like parks and rooftops, WorkOut repurposes spaces as creative hubs, fostering passion and inspiration from nature. With a modular design, units can be tailored with amenities and rented for various durations, even for group activities.

Statement of the jury
Working outside in nature and still being comfortable and protected from bad weather - this is made possible by the interesting WorkOut concept in the form of a modular room installation. The cleverly thought-out system can be expanded as required, blends perfectly into natural environments with its organic design language and aesthetics, and becomes an eye-catcher here.
