Hi.My name is Claudia Zelaya, I am studying business with an emphasis in marketing at Cal state Dominguez hills. I have a passion for interior design and eventually want to own my own design firm. I graduated from FIDM where we completed projects that consisted of designing a commercial spaces and residential spaces in a matter of 9 weeks. These projects included complete design boards, floor plans, and 300 pages of specified materials that had to abide by commercial codes for commercial spaces. I work at Pottery Barn where not only do we get to help customers design their homes with in-store and in-home consultations but I also get to set-up the designs for the sales floor. Group shifts for new floor sets start at 5am before the store would open so when my task was complete I move on to help co-workers in order to finish in a timely manner. Assisting others is something I’m compassionate about, getting to see ones reaction after completing a great design in their living space is fulfilling.
