Hugo Soo

Toronto, ON, CA

Hugo strives to capture moments of the universal human experience in space and time through both design and photography. He believes design is not cosmetics, but rather rationalized solution that synthesizes a holistic experience. Each project is an opportunity for experimentation, to address cultural, socio-economic and ecological issues, through an iterative process of improvisations and adaptations

Hugo received his BID (Bachelor of Interior Design) from the Ryerson School of Interior Design. His thesis explores a new architectural agenda of decomposable architecture, responding to issues of urban land shortage and excessive property values.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Toronto, Hugo has previously worked in the design offices of AedasZAS, and Bruce Mau Design.
