John Beckmann is the founder of the New York based firm Axis Mundi. He is a recipient of a grant from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and is a MacDowell Colony Fellow. He edited and contributed to The Virtual Dimension: Architecture, Representation and Crash Culture, Princeton Architectural Press. Axis Mundi's recent projects have been featured in Metropolitan Home, Spaces, C3, Archiworld, and The New York Times, as well as, online publications such as Architect's Newspaper, ArchDaily, BldgBlog, Curbed, Dezeen, Designboom, Domus, and The New York Observer. He has been a guest on Bloomberg TV, and LX-TV's Open House.
