• Performed 2D modeling of mock-up petrochemical plant. This includes pipe racks, pipe supports, catch basin, waste water retention basin, electrical cable tray supports, manifolds, platforms, piles, foundations, ladders, gratings, stairs, handrails and all other supports for equipments such as heat exchangers, vessels and towers.
• Drafted cross sections for volume take off of materials. Designed supporting structures according to vendor’s equipment specifications and designed pipe supports and pump foundation for new equipment. Including main steel, vertical and horizontal bracing and equipment framing.
• Conducting training sessions for the juniors on work related topics and upcoming technologies to ensure good quality and quantity. Provided guidance and leadership to other detailers.
• Checked connection materials, erection plans and shop drawings (brace beams, girder, columns, embed plates, rolled beams, trusses, joists, stairs, anchor bolts, base plates, connection angles and other miscellaneous steel) based on architectural design, structural design specifications and in accordance with BS standard.
• Checked and verified drawings against vendor supplied data and specifications. Ensured all relevant codes, standards, procedures and technical instructions from engineering are being correctly applied.
• Performed squad checks of vendor and fabrication drawings as required.
• Collaborated with team members during design reviews and maintained effective communication and interface with other engineering disciplines as required.
