About

I graduated in the field of architecture and urban planning from Poznan University of Technology and was awarded the Master of Architecture (MArch) professional degree with distinction. At the same time I was broadening my knowledge trough architecture-related postgraduate programme concerning illumination design. For the purpose of this course I have developed analytic and design methods for creating comprehensive lighting plan for a city, focused on reduction of energy use and improving city's night image.

During summer breaks I was working as an architecture intern in Poland and abroad.  In Italy, besides involvement in the design of multiple housing projects, I had a chance to learn about photo-voltaic installations and how to implement them in architecture design. It was a great experience which affected my further professional development. Then, after I have obtained my master's degree, I was working for almost a year in Polish architecture and construction studio Matyja & Ritter. There, I took part in development of thermal efficiency improvement project with the use of Passive House components. Unfortunately, this project was never implemented due to a lack of funds but working to achieve EnerPHit certification criteria was a great lesson for my architectural career. In April 2014 I have started my own business activity and I continue to work as a freelancer and subcontractor to architecture studios.

Alongside professional development, I am pursuing a research career as a PhD candidate. The subject of my interest and dissertation is use of  parametric modelling techniques in order to facilitate and accelerate the complex process of designing passive, zero-energy and energy-plus buildings. The great number of factors and elements that must be taken into consideration in the design of energy efficient building, cause this traditional process to be inefficient and time-consuming. The aim of my research is to develop a tool for supporting aforementioned process.

Matyja & Ritter, Poznan, PL, Architect

After I have obtained my master's degree I was working in Polish architecture and construction studio Matyja & Ritter. My main responsibility was site supervision during modernization of a hotel from 1974, which has been constructed of pre-fabricated pre-stressed concrete panels popular in Soviet bloc. I also took part in development of thermal efficiency improvement project with the use of Passive House components. Unfortunately, this project was never implemented due to a lack of funds but working to achieve EnerPHit certification criteria was a great lesson for my architectural career, even if the project remained only on paper. Nevertheless, the hotel was sucessfully transformed into a student dormitory and academic centre.

I was involved in the following projects:
– Alkom: transport base and waste sorting plant in Poznań,
– Polonez: student dormitory and academic centre in Poznań,
– Hala CB: storage building in Suchy Las.
– renovation of local cultural centre in Objezierze,
– commercial pavilion in Słupca,

Responsibilities:
