About

As a recent graduate in Architecture, with a minor in Business and a focus in multimedia and visualization, I have five years of experience in the design process as well as business administration. I have completed an internship with Atlantic City based firm MPM Studio LLC and have recently worked for the AIA Bookstore in Philadelphia. I am currently employed by Stephen Starr Restaurants at Frankford Hall in Fishtown, Philadelphia.

Throughout my five years at Philadelphia University, my education has concentrated on a wide variety of programs. In the first few years, design studios were highly conceptual and focused on developing drawing, modeling, and presentation skills. All the while pushing my work ethic to develop and encourage dedication and persistence. In later years, projects became multidisciplinary with even more challenges and obstacles. I completed work for various competitions such as the Delaware Valley Green Building Council for a bike shelter in Philadelphia as well as the ACSA/AISC Student Design Competition in the open category for a high rise prison in Philadelphia. In addition, my capstone project, completed with a partner, was an urban design project for Nueva Pompeya in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In this capstone project, we challenged ourselves to pursue a parametric design course. We researched heavily and extensively in order to make our objective and design process coherent and relevant.

Other than the architectural design process and development of projects, I also have a great interest in graphic design and presentation. Each year with every project I continued to push myself further to experiment more with graphic design and how it can be intertwined with the entire concept of the project. I believe that the presentation you make should be clearly interpreted by others just the way you would present it verbally. Every graphic; image or text, must stand on its own.

In addition to design skills, I understand that leadership skills are necessary to both enter and work within the field. I have been an active member in the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern Jersey for over thirteen years and completed all levels, Brownie through Senior Girl Scout. With this vast experience I have learned not only how to be a leader, but also dedication and persistence to achieve goals.
