About

I am a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor Science degree in Interior Design. As a former collegiate athlete I have always strived for challenge and competition. This need for challenge and competition is what lead me to become passionate about design. Design has allowed me to accomplish, achieve, and overcome obstacles on a daily basis. Whether it is identifying the concept for the current project I am working on, or simply arranging my materials board to present to a client the outcome is rewarding to me, similar to winning a gymnastics or diving competition. And, because of my self- motivation I thrive for a fast paced work environment.

Currently I am looking for a company where my dedication and excitement about design can help better the overall company and clients.

Education

The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL, US, Bachelors, Interior Design

Throughout my college experience, I have had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy and learn about Italian design and its influence. I have also had the opportunity to renovate a town in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, after a real site visit, where I constructed autoCAD exterior elevations and floor plans based on the actual measurements of one house. Moreover, I have completed a documentation set for the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama and specification sheets to accompany this office document set. Last, my experience in this design program has allowed me to have a versatile design experience ranging from residential, textile, and commercial design projects. For example, specifically I have designed an assisted living facility where the focus was on codes. I have also designed a bakery where the intent was the lighting for the space. Furthermore, I have designed a vacation residence home in Thailand, where we had to meet Thailand Codes for our FF&E's. These are a few examples of the projects I have had the opportunity to design.
