This project is a new 38,000 sf performing arts center for a K-12 private secular school in The Woodlands, Texas. The program includes a 550-seat full proscenium theater; a black box theater; and band, choir, and dance classrooms. Building construction budget was modest and the design attempts to draw from the varied existing campus material palette. The building sits at the terminus of the campus commons and is the school’s largest and tallest building. The building massing is designed to lessen the effect of the blank 90-foot height of the fly loft
