Over my 25+ years of working in the architectural profession I have gained experience in many phases of the architectural practice, and have worked on many different project types with a variety of construction types and in different parts of the country.
I have been actively involved in many types of architectural projects from start to finish, from planning to design, from construction documents to construction administration.
I have worked with many city agencies relating to land use entitlements, design review, construction permits, variances, and appeals. I am familiar with many city zoning codes, the Oregon Structural Specialty Code, International Building Code, Washington Building Code, and California Building Code and have experience working with owners, developers, contractors, and city officials.
I have a special interest in sustainable architecture and designed the Vancouver Hilton Hotel and Conference Center, one of the first major hotels in the country to become LEED certified and the flagship branch office of Wauna Federal Credit Union in Scappoose, Oregon, the first LEED certified building in Columbia County and the first credit union in Oregon. I also acted as the Project Administrator guiding and overseeing the certification process using the LEED online certification website.
I believe architecture should meet the needs of the community as well as the client and in creating architecture that is practical, innovative, efficient, functional, sustainable, livable, and beautiful.
