FTR International, Los Angeles, CA, US, Project Manager
As Project and Design Manager for general contractor, I am responsible for domestic and international public sector design/build projects. Types include those for higher education, and agencies representing a complete spectrum of municipal clients. Current projects include facilities on three Los Angeles Community College (LACCD) campuses with a total value of over $100 million. In this capacity I manage architects and engineers providing proactive project leadership to facilitate delivery of award-winning, LEED accredited designs in an expeditious and economic manner. Responsibilities include ongoing design analysis, technical reviews of building design and construction, and Building Code compliance reviews at key milestones for all projects, as well as representation with Owner representatives, construction management staff, and regulatory agencies. As in-house LEED Professional I assist project teams in exceeding desired green building practice credits for bid and design/build projects.
HKS Inc, Beverly Hills, CA, US, Senior Construction Administrator
Senior Construction Administrator responsible for quality assurance and construction administration for the $360,000,000 Hollywood W Hotel & Residences, a LEED Silver mixed-use high-rise residential and luxury hotel development comprised of fifteen and twelve story concrete condo and hotel towers over 2 ½ story underground parking structure. Responsibilities include coordination of design team of over fifteen consultants, completion and approvals of construction documents, project permitting, submittal reviews, requests for information, change orders, field observation, and project closeout. Directed team of architects and consultants incorporating design/scope changes and ongoing value engineering during construction. Project constructed under CMaC, Construction Manager as Contractor. Responsible for development, coordination, and construction of multiple design components, including skin and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, were design-build.
The Jerde Partnership, Venice, CA, US, Senior Project Manager
Senior Project Manager responsible for project delivery of Santa Monica Place, a mixed-use, retail-commercial redevelopment of 570,000 square foot, and upgrades to two five story 500 vehicle parking structures. Project value exceeded $200 million. Responsible for primary client contact, coordination with public agencies, technical direction and management of design and consulting teams. Other projects include proposed 300,000 square foot retail and commercial development with new NFL stadium in Anaheim, CA, and Getz Entertainment Centre, a 700,000 square foot, fifteen story high-rise mixed-use development, including hotel and condominiums(estimated value over $400,000,000) in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
AECOM, Los Angeles, CA, US, Project Manager
Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) – Region 3 Existing Facilities: As Project Manager I directed pre-construction efforts, surveying existing buildings and campuses for scope and verification of budgets, oversaw design efforts of A/E firms towards agency approvals, provided detailed reviews of design and construction documents, prepared bid documents, and coordinated construction by external contractors and internal LAUSD construction and maintenance units. Aggregate value of projects responsible exceeded $50 million. In this capacity I developed streamlined project delivery methodology for Job Order Contract System, where over 100 projects were initiated in less than a year.
Port of Los Angeles – Pier 400: As on-site Project Manager I oversaw the design-build process for the design, development, and construction of 18 office and gate facilities at the largest proprietary marine cargo terminal in America. Facilities included corporate headquarters, and administration, operations, and maintenance buildings. Duties included managing preparation of design documents, coordination of public agency reviews and approvals, daily field observation of construction, reviews of submittals, pay requests, change orders, construction schedules, and liaison to senior Port management. Responsible for assuring all design and construction conformed to Port standards and that it was completed on time and within budget. Work was coordinated with five additional prime general contractors for specialized port construction. Cost of buildings exceeded $60 million. Total cost of project - $900 million.
Capital Improvement Program, City of Santa Monica, California: Project manager for multiple capital improvement and major maintenance projects. Tasks included surveys of City facilities, verification of budgets, coordination with City agencies, development of design and bidding documents, and construction administration, including field observation of construction, reviews of submittals, pay requests, change orders and project close-out. Project schedules were focused on maintaining ongoing operational needs of each facility during construction. Responsible for quality control reviews of architectural, structural, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction documents for the new police/fire headquarters, City pool, and housing for the elderly and, management of construction for interior finish-out of City Hall, renovations to the Civic Auditorium, Animal Shelter, and parks facilities. All projects embraced City sustainable design objectives.
California Task Force on Court Facilities: Directed on-site surveys and evaluations of over thirty courthouses in Los Angeles County for physical condition, life-safety, code compliance, functionality, security, accessibility, and space requirements as prerequisite for development of capital construction budget for master planning and new construction.
